"海角社区 served me well and acted as a springboard that helped me achieve my academic and career goals.鈥�
I chose 海角社区 because it was close to home and is a cost-effective way to get a quality education with practical results. Although I started in the Fire Science program at 海角社区, I realized that I preferred the medical side of emergency services. I was able to change my major to nursing shortly thereafter.听
My journey to nursing and medicine began at Sanbornton Fire and Rescue as a member of the on-call team. I became a licensed EMT-B and worked at the station throughout nursing school. I earned my Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from 海角社区 in 2018, then completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) at Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2019. I received my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Frontier Nursing University in 2023. Throughout that time, I worked in emergency, intensive care, orthopedic, psychiatric, and visiting nurse settings.听
I’m now pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Frontier Nursing University while working as a Family Nurse Practitioner at HealthFirst Family Care Center in the Lakes Region. In this role, I offer patients same-day service for their acute needs.
海角社区’s nursing and fire science faculty are phenomenal, and they constantly pushed me to improve and rise to the standard that nursing demands. The nursing program is well-structured, providing a solid foundation for further education and nursing practice. The ADN I earned at 海角社区 gave me a pathway to licensure after just two years of study, allowing me to work as a nurse while completing additional education.
海角社区 served me well and acted as a springboard that helped me achieve my academic and career goals. I truly appreciate the sense of community at 海角社区, and I made long-lasting friendships while I was there. I would encourage anyone considering a career in nursing to start at 海角社区.

I chose 海角社区 because it was close to home and affordable. When I graduated from high school, I didn鈥檛 know what I wanted to study but I knew I wanted to continue my education.
My professors were all supportive, which made the transition from high school to college significantly less intimidating. My advisor, Professor Freeborn, encouraged me to challenge myself academically, going as far as to help me apply to (and ultimately get into) an undergraduate summer research program at Johns Hopkins. This support was important for me to build confidence as a student and lifelong learner.
The Liberal Arts program at 海角社区 allowed me to explore academic interests while still staying on track to graduate. When I transferred to Plymouth State University, I was confident that I could succeed in college-level classes. 海角社区 gave me the academic foundations and study habits I needed to do well in my classes and enjoy them.
I received a bachelor鈥檚 in interdisciplinary studies from Plymouth State University, and I鈥檓 now at NHTI for Nursing. I am set to graduate in 2027 and plan to continue my education so I can become a nurse practitioner. The strong foundation in communication and critical thinking I got at 海角社区 gave me skills that I still use everywhere, from advocating for my patients in the clinical setting to learning new content in class. I feel like I was well prepared.

I chose 海角社区 because it was the best way for me to save money, while also starting down the correct path for my career. Having a Liberal Arts degree made transferring to a 4-year college easy since I had all my Gen Eds completed upon arrival.
Currently, I鈥檓 a student in the History and Social Studies Education program at Plymouth State University. I鈥檓 on track to becoming a teacher within the next year. 海角社区 has great advisors who were always willing to meet with me to ensure that I was taking the correct classes for a seamless transfer process.
海角社区 staff and faculty continuously supported my academic pursuits and helped answer all my questions. They always gave me very valuable feedback and helped push me to achieve my goals. I formed close connections with some of my professors that I still have today.
My advice for high school students that are considering 海角社区 is to do it. 海角社区 is a great resource to have in our community. If you are looking for a school that has friendly faculty and staff who understand that life sometimes gets in the way, then this is the school to choose. Attending 海角社区 was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and it helped me feel comfortable being in a classroom environment again.
The best thing about 海角社区 is the faculty and staff and the respect that they have for the school community. They are incredibly kind, and they truly care about their students鈥� success. They offer lots of events that bring the community to the campus and also get students out into the community. The staff opened doors and formed connections for me that I didn鈥檛 even know were possible.

Paralegal and Law School Applicant
鈥満＝巧缜� provides small class sizes, challenging courses, and easily accessible professors. By the time I applied to a 4-year university, I was more than ready to keep up with my peers.鈥�
I graduated from high school two trimesters early. I originally planned to study for one semester at 海角社区 to get familiar with college before transferring to a 4-year university. COVID-19 hit less than 2 months into my first semester, and at that point it just made more sense to continue at 海角社区 and complete my associate degree. 海角社区 was close to my home, affordable, and offered a flexible schedule so I could work and pursue other ventures while being a fulltime student.
I chose a general Interdisciplinary Studies path at 海角社区. I was not completely sure what I wanted to do, so I focused on taking many of my Gen Eds while choosing classes that interested me and deciding what I liked most. It was an ecology class that I took with Professor Simon that helped me to realize that I wanted to pursue environmental law as a career.
After graduating from 海角社区, I transferred to Florida State University in Tallahassee. There, I double majored in political science and environmental science, graduating in the top 15% of my class. 海角社区 provides small class sizes, challenging courses, and easily accessible professors. By the time I applied to a 4-year university, I was more than ready to keep up with my peers. I had already mastered some of the hardest parts about being a driven student, like the ability to reach out for support, problem-solve, and ask the right questions.
I am currently working at Wescott Law as a family law paralegal, while studying for my LSAT. I鈥檓 readying my applications to apply for law school in the fall of 2026. I hope to be accepted into a top 50 law school and pursue a career in environmental law as an attorney.
I would tell current and future students: Use your time at 海角社区 to learn more about yourself and the world around you. Your interests and strengths will light the way for you and help you determine the right career path.
